HYGIENE TEAM
Barbara
Barb is one of our excellent hygienists and is also the hygiene team leader. She absolutely loves being a hygienist which is why she has tried unsuccessfully to retire a couple of times and will probably die with floss in her hands. She is a transplant from a small town in northern Maine and truly values the relationships she is able to establish with her patients. Barb and her husband currently reside in Woodland Hills, which is the closest she could find to moving back home out here and are the proud parents of three children. When she is not helping patients achieve their optimal dental health, she can be found trying to perfect pretty 20 meter circles on her dressage horse Chancellor (aka Chanceypants) which appeals very much to her type A personality. She also has a background in more natural approaches to oral and overall health and loves to chat with her patients about that as well. Most patients leave their time with her with a smile on their face or a warm hug at their discretion.
Shandra
Hygiene specialist Shandra is one of our excellent Dental Hygienists. She has over 12 years of experience in dental hygiene and specializes in treating patients with periodontal disease. Her dental background began at a young age, thanks to her father, who practiced dentistry for over 30 years before retiring. Shandra has also worked as a clinical instructor for the Utah College of Dental Hygiene and the Dixie State College dental hygiene programs. “I love making patients feel at ease in a place that can often be hard for people.” A pleasure to be around, you can tell when she’s in the office – there is always the pleasant sound of laughter that follows her. Shandra enjoys traveling, snowboarding, competing in triathlons, and spending time with her husband and their 3 young children.
Jocelyn
Jocelyn is a fantastic Hygienist and she speaks Spanish. Her sweet and outgoing personality always makes every visit a great visit! “Why work in the Dental field? Working with our fabulous patients and staff… of course! I love helping people learn about their personal hygiene and tips they didn’t know before!” Always having a smile and a laugh she helps to keep the office atmosphere lighthearted. Jocelyn loves music, hiking, make-up (especially LipSense!), and spending time with family.
Kari
Kari has enjoyed helping dental patients for over 18 years as a Dental Hygienist! She is dedicated to helping enhance the smiles of our patients Dedicated, committed and concerned describe Kari’s approach to patient care. Her motto is, “If there is something you are able to do to help someone, do it.” Kari is originally from the west coast and loves to travel there. The beach and sunshine are her favorite things. When she is not working, she is staying busy playing chauffeur to her 4 kids.
Stephanie
Our dental hygienist Stephanie is a mother to two cute little boys and loves to spend time with family! She has her Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and has been working in our office since 2016. She loves working with patients and helping them feel more comfortable with their smiles and teaching them great home care. She likes to go to the gym, or snuggle up and watch a good show, or loves to be outdoors and enjoy the summer sun!
Amanda
Amanda came to the U.S. in 2010 from Nicaragua. She graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. Her thoughts on dentistry, “I love being a hygienist because it is more than cleaning teeth, it’s about changing lives and educating patients about their oral health. We want them to be comfortable coming to the dentist.” Amanda loves spending time with her husband and their two kids, reading books and she also loves a good crime show.
Heidi
Heidi was born and raised in the great state of Ohio and moved to Utah for the Dental Hygiene program at UVU, where she got her bachelors and graduated in 2019. After working in Washington DC for a time, she moved back to Utah to be with her forbidden Lover and hasn’t ever looked back. Her favorite thing about being a Dental Hygienist is educating her patients and seeing the light bulbs click as patients realized the importance of oral care. When she isn’t talking her patients’ ear off, she loves cooking and enjoys a good slice of cheese.
Kendra
Kendra was born in Toronto Canada and moved to Utah 4 years ago. Kendra is a dental assistant and has been working at the Dental Center since May 2021. Kendra loves working with the dental hygiene team as their assistant, because her dream and goal is to become a hygienist one day and has been getting great hands-on experience. Kendra loves her job and hopes to someday work as a hygienist at the Dental Center. When Kendra is not at work she is in school or taking care of her two beautiful children. She loves to swim, cook, watch movies and spend time with family. We love having Kendra at The dental Center especially because she helps out with Spanish speaking patients if needed through her Panamanian background.
ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM
Office Manager Jamie
Jamie has been working in the dental field for 19 years! She has also worked as an assistant for several years before moving to the front office. "I love working with the insurances, and helping patients get the most out of their benefits.” Jamie loves spending time with her family! When she’s not at work you can find this hockey mom at the rink with her 2 boys, as well as spending time with her husband and daughter. “My kids and my family are my best friends, my time with them is priceless!”.
Yanira
Yanira is now serving our patients at the front as one of our fabulous Administrators! She has assisted our Doctors for over 3 years and we are lucky to have her back office experience now checking in our patients who already know her well. Her sweet and caring personality will always help make your visit stress free. “What is the best part about working at the Dental Center? Everyone from the staff to the patients are so nice. It’s a very fun loving office!” Yanira was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. She loves spending time with her family, and when she’s not working, she’s enjoying her time doing outdoor activities.
Erika
Erika joined our team in 2021. She was born in Chimbote, Peru and came to live in the USA in 1999 with her family. She is a mother of 4 and has 4 grandchildren and one more on the way. She loves cooking for her family and gathering her kids for Sunday dinner, loves trips, going to the theater and spending time with her husband.
DENTAL ASSISTANT TEAM
Angie
Angie joined our team in 2013 and has been a great addition to our team of professional assistants! Angie is from Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico. She entered the Dental profession because she likes “the environment, and helping people feel better about themselves.” Angie enjoys working with the wide variety of patients that come to our office. When she’s not working, Angie is exercising or relaxing while catching up on her favorite TV shows or movies.
Stephany
Stephany comes to us from Boca Raton, Florida! She moved to Utah in 2020 and is currently studying at UVU. Stephany started working as a dental assistant in 2020 and joined the Dental Center team in 2021. When she is not working or studying, you can find her playing volleyball, cooking, or doing anything that involves music!
